Dear ESRS2019 Congress Participant,
The XVIII European Society for Rural Sociology Congress is almost here, and I would like to give you some important practical information before you start on your journey to Trondheim, Norway:
Paper Presentations
There will be a PC and projector/TV/monitor in all meeting rooms, and it will NOT be possible to hook up your own PC/MAC. If you are presenting in a Working Group, and have an electronic presentation (in the form of Power Point or the like) you must send this to you Working Group leader in good time before your presentation. It would also be smart for you to bring it on a USB stick, just in case.
Book of Abstracts
The book of abstracts will be published online (only) shortly. Until then, you can find all abstracts on the congress website under the respective Working Groups.
Accessing the Congress
Airport Express Bus
From Trondheim Airport Værnes there are two companies running Airport Express Bus services to the city of Trondheim. You can pay with a credit or debit card, so no need for Norwegian currency.
Værnes-Ekspressen: Stops outside the congress venue Clarion Hotel & Congress. It takes approx. 30 minutes to Clarion Hotel & Congress from Trondheim Airport Værnes.
Flybussen: The closest stop to Clarion Hotel and Congress is Trondheim Sentralstasjon (Central Station), from there you can walk (600 m) or take a taxi to the venue.
Train
Both local and regional trains stop at Trondheim Sentralstasjon (Central Station) and Trondheim Airport Værnes. The train takes about 35 minutes from the airport to Trondheim Central Station, and it’s about 600 meters form the Central Station to the Clarion Hotel and Congress.
Field Trips
If you have registered for a Field Trip, please check your trip description and pack suitable footwear and clothes (e.g. shoes for walking over rough terrain, and clothes for rainy and cold weather).

Visit us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/esrs2019/ for updates and news. You will also find a lot of (older) information about the congress on these websites. A list of all changes to the printed programme will be made available during the congress.
Withdrawals
If you are registered, but will not attend the congress, it would be nice if you could let us know in a reply to this email.
